As promised, my first post about the book I am reading will be today! I started it last night and I am about 7 chapters in right now. I am a fairly fast reader, so depending on the week and how busy I am, I may get 1-2 books up a week. Again, depending 😉
Since this is my first post about books, I will explain how I am going to do this. The first post will always be about the book I am reading (obviously), a quick run through of what it’s about it and the rating it currently has on Goodreads.
If you are not on Goodreads and you love to read, I am judging you! Kidding. Goodreads is my favourite place to search for books and get an idea of what’s good, what to stay away from and new releases. I tend to go for books that are a 4 star or better, but I have loved some books that have received low ratings. Again, join Goodreads if you are an avid reader and if you already have it, follow me 🙂 I would love to see what you are reading.
While You Were Sleeping
This book has been the 3rd book that I read by this author. What I love about Kathryn Crofts books is that they are all psychological thrillers. They keep you guessing all the way up until the end and with the previous two, all my guesses turned out to be completely wrong. She has the same writing style as Paula Hawkins (author of Girl on the Train) and I fell in love with her first book so fast that I had to get the other two that were available.
With this book, While You Were Sleeping, I can already tell that this one is going to be more of a guessing game. The story is about a woman named Tara who lives a happy life with her husband and two kids. It’s the perfect setup to a story about a family who seems to have everything and then it all starts to go wrong.
The chaos starts when Tara finds herself waking up in her neighbour, Lee’s bed. She has no recollection of how she got there or what happened between them. And to make matters even worse, he has been stabbed to death and she knows she didn’t do it.
The story starts off almost immediately with that and the reader gets to see the chaos that comes afterwards. You start to see the unravelling of the family and how everyone seems to hide a secret. I am only 7 chapters in, but I already have guesses with who I think did it. Of course, I am more than likely wrong about it, as her other two books have proven that.
Goodreads score: 3.87/5
I am excited to read the rest of this book! Psychological thrillers has been a favourite genre of mine for awhile now and I am constantly searching for more like these.

See you in the next post 🙂
