Today’s post is a first look at the brand Sukin Organics, which is a skincare brand based out in Australia. The whole line which includes both skincare and hair care is 100% vegan with no animal testing whatsoever.
After seeing numerous bloggers talking about Sukin (cough *stash matters* cough) I decided to test it out myself. I found all of the products at Marshalls, but you can also find them at Winners and any other store related to Marshalls. I also found the brand on well.ca
Keep on reading to find out the products I picked up!
Value Pack: Micellar Cleansing Water & Facial Moisturiser
Around Christmas, I found this value pack (retails for $12.99) at Marshalls and I knew I had to pick it up! It had the two products I wanted to try the most bundled into one pack at half the cost. Both products are full size and come in their standard green packaging.
Micellar Cleansing Water
The cleansing water is formulated with aloe vera and infused with cucumber and chamomile. The micellar water is meant to remove all dirt and makeup.
I honestly love this product! It is so gentle on my skin and does an amazing job of removing all my makeup. I am not left with that gross feeling afterward like other micellar waters leave. Yes, there is still a bit of residue which is normal, but my eye makeup is always removed completely, which is very impressive to me. Aside from the Caudalie micellar water, this is one of my favourites.
Nutrient Rich Facial Moisturiser
This moisturiser is lightweight and enriched with kale, spirulina, chlorella and parsley. The product is meant to promote a healthy looking complexion. Also included are acai and goji berry extracts, rosehip, avocado and jojoba. Last but not least is a hint of cranberry which provides the refreshing scent to the product.
Again, this product smells amazing! It is very gentle on my skin, allowing my skin to breathe and to feel soft to the touch. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I can already see the difference when it comes to the dryness that this weather has provided. I have more of a “glow” and less dry patches. This has easily become one of my go-to moisturisers as the results of it has been amazing!
Antioxidant Eye Serum
On a separate shopping trip, I was able to pick up the eye serum and I was so happy that I finally found it, as it proved to be very difficult.
The serum comes in a smaller bottle than the other two products, but there is still plenty of product to use. The purpose of the eye serum is to provide rehydration to the delicate skin around the eyes with the help of aloe vera, cucumber and burdock. It is also meant to improve elasticity and texture using ingredients such as rose hip, evening primrose and borage oils while reducing the appearance fine lines and wrinkles.
Once again, the product doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the smell. It smells so good that it seems right to apply it to my skin if that makes sense haha. The packaging is a small bottle with a pump at the top allowing easy dispensing of the serum. Again, the cream is gentle and provides such a softness to my skin.
However, with this product, my skin had some sort of reaction. I used it twice in a row and on the third day, I woke up with redness and irritation to my under eyes. It almost felt like my skin was burning a bit, so I stopped all use of the serum. I have yet to use it again, but I do want to test it out to see if this actually did cause the reaction of my skin. I almost feel disappointed because I looked for the longest time for this product and it betrayed me haha. I will keep you updated with this product specifically!
With that all being said, I think Sukin Skincare ius an amazing brand with great products. There are so many other products available including products for specific skin types. It is affordable and great for your skin and the earth.
