How have you been?! My life has finally settled down and my wedding has officially been booked for June 9th, 2017 down in Punta Cana. It has been a long time coming and now, I can finally focus on the fun parts.
On top of that stress, my work was going through a huge change which left me exhausted and I honestly came home every day, watched Netflix and laid in bed. I am not even mad about it, my body definitely thanks me. That was last week, so this week has been smooth sailing (!!!).
I mentioned a few posts ago that I went on a skincare binge. I love testing out skincare products and thankfully, my skin isn’t sensitive, so I am able to try out products without having to worry about breaking out each time I do. The one thing about skincare is that it always seems to be a work in progress for me. I never truly have the different steps down, so I am always changing something up.
Anyways, if you want to see what I have accumulated, keep on reading!
First off, I received this package through Chick Advisor for review purposes. I know many people who have used Vichy or swear by it, but I have honestly never tried any of their products.
The package that I received came with 3 full size products that are meant for acne-prone skin. I have never been more excited to try out skincare products in my life than when I received this. The products included are:
- Purifying pore-tightening lotion
- Deep cleansing purifying gel
- Corrective anti-acne treatment
The anti-acne treatment is what I was most excited for! The packaging states that it helps with blemishes, large pores, shine, redness, scars and uneven complexion. This description is honestly the description of my face haha. There is a scent to the treatment, which I am not the biggest fan of, so I haven’t been using it as much as I want to.
I am going to do a full on review about these products, so I can do a full ingredient list and go into detail about each product.
Quick Fix Facials
Ugh, these are my favourite masks ever! This is a brand that is sold in the UK and I have yet to find an actual store that sells them. I bought these two masks from Marshalls, so trying to find them is a big struggle. Just from doing some researching, I found out that there are various types of this mask for different skin types. The two that I got are: Calming Clay Mask for Sensitive & Red Skin and Anti-Blemish Mud Mask for Oily & Spot Prone Skin.
I have been obsessed with the Calming Clay one for a bit now and I use it every time my skin starts to act up. I will do a thorough cleanse of my face and apply the mask to the active parts of my skin. Again, there will be a full review of the masks up in the near future!
I got two products from Garnier a few weeks ago. I haven’t used this brand in awhile, but there were two products that were just speaking to me hence the two that I purchased haha. The first one is: Gentle Clarifying Cleansing Gel and the second one is: Balancing Gel Exfoilator.
The Cleansing Gel is probably one of my favourite cleansers that I have used to date. It’s meant for sensitive skin, however, I bought it because one of the ingredients says it includes zinc. Zinc is meant to aid in acne and I have been doing research about that, so I was interested to see how well this cleanser works compared to some of my other ones. Again, as I am going to become repetitive, I will review in full.
The second product is the Exfoliator which is meant for combination skin. It is meant to help with excess oil and impurities while softening any dry areas. I have yet to try this, but the smell of this is amazing…it comes in grapefruit pamplemousse!
I have a Pro-X cleansing system from Olay which is a rotating cleanser brush, so I bought two rotating heads as I was out of them. I just want to thank everyone for leaving me comments about the Clarisonic, which I have yet to respond back to. Everyone who replied to that gave me great responses and allowed me to figure out if it was truly worth it or not. My decision is to stick with my Pro-X for right now 🙂
The second thing I bought was Olay Fresh Effects Shine Minimizing Cleanser. Truthfully, I bought this because it was on sale and because it says that it deeply cleans and purifies. So, I was sold haha. However, I am not the biggest fan. I am not entirely sure if it is actually working or not. I am not hundred percent sure about it, but I will keep you updated if I like this or not.
Okay, so I lied earlier. Marcelle’s Ultra Gentle Cleansing Gel is my second favourite cleanser of all time while another product by Marcelle is my fave of all time haha. I will feature that other product in my favourites post.
This cleansing gel is so gentle and so effective. Marcelle is a favourite brand of mine as it is paraben-free, oil-free, perfume-free, hypo-allergenic etc. This brand can truly work for every skin type. Plus the packaging is always so big, so it takes forever to run out of it.
The last thing I picked up was the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. This is my holy grail of facial exfoliators. I truly cannot live without it and none of the other brands can live up to this one. I probably go through a few bottles a month!
I hope you enjoyed my skincare haul! I am definitely going to enjoy testing out majority of these products. Watch for those reviews, they will be posted in the next few weeks.
Thank you for reading!
