January Favourites | 2016

Hey Everyone!

As if it’s the end of January! Does anyone else feel like this year will go by faster than last? Can I please go back to being a child?!

I have a bunch of reviews coming your way! I kind of went on a makeup shopping spree, so I have a lot to show you. I am waiting on a few more items to arrive then I will post a haul to share my goodies ๐Ÿ™‚ For tonight’s post, I am sharing my favourite products of this past month. I honestly don’t know how I manage to have different products each month, as I feel like I never switch it up, but here I am again with a bunch of new faves for you all!

Kirkland Pre-Moistenedย Towelettes

If you didn’t know, Kirkland is the Costco brand. I follow LustreLux on Snapchat and she constantly raves about these makeup remover cloths. Naturally, I bought them the next day and I can honestly say that they are best. In true Costco form, they come in a large box containing around 200 towelettes (I believe). The box retails for $15, which is pretty amazing considering how much a pack of 30 is elsewhere.

I love that they are large and I can take off my whole face of makeup using one cloth. They are extra moist, which helps immensely! I really love these so much and I don’t think I can return to any other kind. The Kirkland brand has my heart now.

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation

I did a review on this foundation a fewย weeks ago, so I am not going to go in-depth with it, but if you want to read that review, click here. However, this is probably one of the best foundations I have used to date, which is saying a lot, I know! But, the formula just seems to work with my skin. It’s long-lasting and the shade matches up perfectly to my skin tone. Wearing a primer underneath seems to really help with any patchiness or fading that I had without one. It’s one of the bests for me!

CoverGirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous! Concealer

I am going to do a full review on this concealer in the next few days, so I am going to be very brief with this explanation as well. This concealer is one of those concealers that is light-weight but provides enough coverage to get you through your day. It’s inexpensive and the shade is perfect with no pink undertones. I started using this concealer as I ran out of my other ones, but this has really grown on me. Watch out for the full review!

The Body Shop Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel

Every favourite I am typing out, is a product that I have yet to review. This gel is my holy grail! I use it every morning and the cooling sensation is amazing. It really helps with any puffiness I may have and it instantly cools my tired eyes. I love putting this on a good 15-20 minutes before I get ready, so my under eyes have a chance to recover and wake up. It is pricey for the amount you are getting, but it is worth every penny!

Ollie & Olivia Angled Brush

I found this gorgeous brush at Winners for $6. I did some looking around on the Internet and I can’t seem to find a site that sells these makeup brushes or where they originate from. With that being said, I love, love, love this brush! It is so soft, making it easy to apply product with. I bought it to apply my highlight, but it would work just as well for applying bronzer. I really can’t get over how soft this brush is, so if anyone knows where I can buy more, please let me know!

  1. Oh I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for that review on that CoverGirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous! Concealer. Is it for blemishes or for under eyes? Inquiring minds want to know! ๐Ÿ˜›
I’ve found SO many awesome brushes at Winners. There are lots of dupes for the Real Techniques and Ecotools brushes too. I often wonder if they’re from the same manufacturers, just a different name stamped on them – ya think? I’ll keep an eye for that Ollie & Olivia one – I’ve not seen that at the Winners around here.

    • It’s for your under eyes, but it would work for blemishes as well. I just love how lightweight the formula is. I will get this review up ASAP ๐Ÿ˜‰
They have to be from the manufacturer because I have yet to find any of the brushes online that I have found at Winners. I almost have to buy the whole line in Winners and then some. There has been some nice dupes for the bold Real Technique brushes at Marshalls…I think they were $10 a brush.

  2. I may try out the Dream Velvet foundation next, I used to love the Dream Matte Mousse back in the day! Coincidentally i’m using the Ready, Set, Gorgeous foundation right now, and i’m not a huge fan- so I don’t think i’ll be trying out the concealer. That eye gel seems amazing! I love The Body Shop products:) That angled brush looks so nice, great find!!
