I hope everyone had a great weekend and it was eventful! This post was supposed to be on Friday, but I have been having too much fun lately and keeping busy, so I am catching up today. I love sitting down and writing this type of post out because it allows me to think of my progress and what has been tough and easy over the past week. I like to think of it as a journal entry that lets me reflect.
I hope whoever is following my progress and using it as motivation for yourself, is doing a great job. It can get very tough, but you can make it through and you will come out stronger!
This week has probably been the toughest week for me. I always know it’s the 2-week mark that either pushes you to keep going or it completely stops you. I have been at the 2-week mark many times and trying to get past it, is honestly so tough. It’s not the gym that has been hard for me, it has been the cravings that have been killing me. I mentioned in my last week’s post that I have cut back on my carbs, completely eliminated sugar in most of my foods and trying to increase my protein, as well as my fruits and veggies intake.
My body must have crashed because I was craving every single sweet food in sight. I wanted chocolate, chips, candy, you name it. The only way I was able to overcome those cravings was to distract myself. I either read, went for a walk or did something productive that kept my mind off of those cravings. There was only one-day last week that was bad for me, but I was able to fight it.
My biggest struggle with myself was thinking that nothing was changing. It has only been 2 weeks since I started this and my mind was immediately thinking that I would start seeing changes right away. It doesn’t work like that and my brain doesn’t seem to get the message LOL. I was in a bit of a slump last week thinking that I can’t do this and nothing is happening, so what is the point. I had to get my head out of that mentality because I knew if I didn’t, there would be no way I could continue on with negative thoughts. Thankfully, it only took one workout to change all of that and for some family members to notice some changes.
I worked out with my sister today, which is honestly the greatest thing to do. If you have a friend or a family member that is willing to work out with you, take full of advantage of that. I find that I am working harder and my sister is encouraging me to do my best. I have found that my energy and my stamina has increased, as well I am finding that I am not out of breath as often as I used to be. I am noticing these smaller changes and it definitely makes such a big difference down the road. I want to continue getting healthy and that means my heart needs to be healthy. With these small changes, it tells me I am on the right track to my goal.
This week is going to be about eating healthy and prepping my meals. I am trying to meal prep, so I don’t overeat and I don’t eat anything unhealthy. Meal prepping is a big job to partake in, but it is so worth it in the end. I have been seeing many bloggers posting about this, so that will be my next challenge. I am also hoping to find a dance class to take, as an extra activity besides going to the gym. In order to see the best results, I have to mix up my exercise routine and I think dancing will be the best route to go. I used to do dance in high school and I loved it. You get in the best shape while having fun, so I hope there are a few classes that will work for me. Also, I need to buy a scale, so I can start sharing my results!
Until next week, I hope everyone enjoys reading my progress. I will be sharing recipes and workout routines I have been doing as well with you. I hope this helps anyone else, as much as this is helping me. I would like to thank everyone again for all of the encouragement, it means so much to me.
